About Wenwen

Lively Taiwanese restaurant in Greenpoint. Established in March 2022, the restaurant offers a family-style dining experience in a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

Located at 1025 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, Wenwen operates as a taiwanese restaurant serving Brooklyn in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Brooklyn; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 AM–3 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Wenwen at (646) 901-5644; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is wenwenbrooklyn.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 795 reviews, which is a strong result for a taiwanese restaurant in Brooklyn and suggests consistent service.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The dessert was definitely the highlight. I’d come back just for that. I used to come here all the time but hadn’t been in a while, and it was still as good as I remembered. The seasonal crab dish was good, and we really enjoyed the fried rice with pork jowl as well. The steak with noodles didn’t quite work for me though; the combination felt a little off. And the popcorn chicken is always a winner here!

Disclaimer I went here back in 2022. I didn't really start doing reviews until this year and wanted to catch up and this review is mostly for a personal list of highlights and great places I've been to. However, based off more recent reviews it seems like the restaurant quality is still superb but if you do decide to read this review I would encourage you to read newer ones. Anyways, when I went the we made a reservation and the food was excellent and I don't remember all the dishes but the BDSM chicken was delicious and the fried rice was great. Based off images online it looks like we also got seaweed fries, 886 noodles, fried tofu, and Lily Flemming Fried Rice, however the menu could've changed. From my recollection the staff and service was great as if I had any issues I would've remembered it. Overall, when I went here a few years ago with a couple friends and I remember we all really enjoyed the meal!

Some dishes here are more solid than others. What's good which happens to be staples from Taiwanese cuisine: - Beef Noodle Soup (solid soup base and super tender beef) - Lo Ba Beng (aka Ru Rou Fan) with fish floss on the side What's decent: - BDSM chicken sandwich only (was extremely juicy but didn't have that Taiwanese dust) What's ok: - beef stock braided tofu (too bland) - tater tots that comes with the BDSM chicken sandwich (it's just regular tater tots with a side of ketchup, no special Taiwanese dust) I went twice during my stay in NYC and they didn't give the condiments (comes in a 3-piece container holder) with the Triple Treasure Noodle Soup and I had to ask for it. Idk why but even then, we didn't get the same chili sauce nor the 3-piece container condiments I had gotten the first time with the Beef Noodle Soup. My first visit was on a weekday and second visit was on a weekend, but I preferred my weekday visit

Lovely neighbourhood joint in Greenpoint! I've been going since day one when this fun modern Taiwanese restaurant opened in 2022, and always have a great time. The vibe is relaxed and you can hear your companions without strain, so I'm always excited to come for casual dinners, introduce friends to the spot, bring large groups, and host some work meetings as well. The menu accommodates allergens really well (including shellfish, which sometimes gets missed), which puts me at ease when recommending Wenwen to friends. The specials keep the menu fresh and me wanting to come back and try more. Two favs included shaved ice for the summer and the one-night collab with Lord's where the noodles were so yummy. Always great to also have consistency on the menu as well. The sticky rice (with the uni add-on) is always a staple on my regular order, and finishing the meal off with the black sesame tangyuan bring so much joy. For special occasions, the BDSM chicken that takes the simple idea of fried chicken but is such a technical feat on its own to makeβ€”it's so juicy. Beverage menu is great for non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. It's nice to have non-alcoholic drinks that aren't just sodaβ€”t

We came here on 3/28/26 at 7. When we arrive, the restaurant was very crowded and noisy, but as the night continued, and people started to leave the noise level dropped. Servers were nice and if you come here you can definitely trust their recommendations πŸ˜‚. The food was really good! Definitely recommend the noodles and popcorn chicken.
